Ludham Airfield
NEWSFLASH: New Controlled Airspace
From 8th March 2012 Controlled Airspace will be introduced at Norwich International Airport. This directly affects Ludham Airfield. Go here or to our Links page to view images or to download the relevant CAA document. Until 8th March 2012 the Letter of Agreement (please read this) we have with Norwich ATC remains operational
Welcome to our website. Ludham Airfield is alive and well under private ownership since the formation of 'Ludham Airfield Ltd' in 2003. The 5 directors all fly from Ludham as well as a few others who are our friends and 'tenants'. Since Summer 2003 there have been substantial improvements to the airfield, particularly the runway.
We are situated in the Norfolk Broadlands immediately East of Ludham Village and a short distance West of Hickling Broad (This makes a good reference point for pilots on approach to Runway 25). Potter Heigham is nearby with Great Yarmouth (and the Racecource) 10miles to the East (by road)..
It is truly delightful aviating country, so long as pilots are sensible about speaking to Norwich on 119.35. Pilots are strongly advised to read our Agreement with Norwich ATC. Generally, we are happy to receive flying visitors (with PPR). Overnight parking is available but the hangar is well and truly full! Please go to the Airfield Plate page for airfield details including contacts and charges and see the Flying In section. There is a rich history attached to the airfield some of which can be seen in pictures here including our Royal Visit!.
