From 8th March 2012 Ludham will be within Norwich Controlled Airspace. See the Home page for full information
PPR: We ask that all flying visitors obtain PPR. You will almost certainly get a response either from Mark Tingle or Don Sargant on one of the following numbers: 07899 915103, 07747 535135
R/T: When approaching the Airfield it is usually best to talk to Norwich Approach on 119.35. You may need to talk to Anglian Radar on 125.275 particularly if you are operating up the East Coast or crossing the Wash. Note the Helicopter Corridors East of Ludham. The helicopters operate out of North Denes (Gt Yarmouth) (123.4) or Norwich.
Runway: Check the Ludham Airfield Plate carefully before arrival. The airfield should be overflown at 1000 ft QNH to observe the Windsock located on the South East end of the runway. Runway 25 requires an angled approach as per the Airfield Plate and any incoming pilot must satisfy themselves that they can cope with this procedure. We do NOT expect or recommend downwind landings under any circumstances onto Runway 07 in order to avoid the angled approach to R25. The Windsock will always determine the Runway in use.
Aircraft Parking: This is available on the Eastern End, South Side (signposted and some tie downs are available). There is no overnight Hangar Space available
Fuel: There is no fuel for sale at the airfield. The nearest sources are Seething, Norwich or Old Buckenham.
Facilities: If one of the Ludham residents is present the clubhouse can be unlocked where there is a toilet facilty. Please note the the secure letterbox for landing fees on the door of the clubhouse.
Booking In & Charges: There is a flight Logbook in the clubhouse. All arrivals and departures should be logged. Landing Fees are £10.00 Private Light Single, and £30 Light Commercial (Pilots flying jockeys in for Gt Yarmouth races please note..there is a tendency for some commercial pilots to 'forget' to pay if the airfield is unattended). Overnight stays for light singles £15 (including Landing Fee). Please put cheques or cash through the secure box on the clubhouse. We would point out that the only income received by the Airfield is from landing fees and hangar space letting.
